Your local auto repair shop or dealership service department uses an Auto AC Diagnostic System developed in the 1950's
It is the industry standard. It involves vacuuming down the refrigerant or freon in your cars AC System. It is a low pressure test. Then injecting oil & dye into the system hoping to "sniff out" or expose the refrigerant or freon leak with a blacklight when the AC system is repressurized.
So what's the problem? First, it's a low pressure test only. It produces a kind of hit or miss scenario that tends to find the big leaks but not small and certainly not tiny leaks in your vehicles AC System. It gets worse. The gas blend being used has rather large molecules. So how is going to find the small or even tiny leaks in the system. If your vehicle is a 2018 or newer vehicle it most likely used the environmentally friendly but 10 times more expensive R1234yf Refrigerant. You heard right. 10X more expensive. If your vehicles AC system is an R12 Refrigerant System 50X more expensive. It's not produced anymore. It's like finding gold in your grandfather's garage!
What does this mean for you? Maybe the auto repair technician gets lucky and discovers the problem the first time. Far more often it means that days, weeks, or months later after repairs you find yourself back in the auto repair shop going through it all over again. That's what frustrated our own Aaron and prompted him to discover a better way to more accurately find the problems in your cars AC System.

So what's the problem?
First, it's a low pressure test only. It produces a kind of hit or miss scenario that tends to find the big leaks but not small and certainly not tiny leaks in your vehicles AC System. It gets worse. The test gas being used only detected the larger leaks. So the obvious leaks in your cars AC system got repaired but missed the smaller leaks. This means you get to go back & do it all over again.
Since switching to the more environmentally friendly Auto AC Refrigerant (R1234yf from R134) in 2018 or newer vehicles the expense to evacuate & recharge your vehicles AC System is 10 times more expensive. You heard right. 10X more expensive. If your vehicles AC system is an R12 Refrigerant System 50X more expensive. It's not produced anymore. It's like finding gold in your grandfather's garage!
