Modern Toyota Vehicles Experience Accelerated Battery Degradation.
The Texas Heat is literally a battery killer. Cold weather may prevent your Toyotas from starting but the heat actually damages the internal plates. In Texas a standard lead acid battery typically last 2 to 3 years compared to 5+ years in northern climates.

Call Kool2U your Toyota battery needs replacement. Our mobile technicians will come to you at home or at the office.

Hybrid Alert: For owners of the Toyota hybrids (Camry's, RAV's, Highlander's) heat is the number 1 issue of the hybrid battery pack. You must clean your cooling fan filter (located under the rear seat) regularly or the battery will overheat and fail prematurely.
In the 100 degree Texas heat Lexus air conditioning systems work overtime.
Toyota owners often experience AC compressor failure and refrigerant leaks. The seals in the AC lines dry out and crack due to cycling between extreme engine bay heat and rapid cooling. You may notice the air in your Lexus is cool but not cold while idling at a red light or when traffic is congested on 1604. This is a signal that your AC compressor is weak or a cooling fan cannot keep up with the San Antonio, New Braunfels, or Boerne humidity.
The newer Toyota hybrids use sophisticated electric compressors that are expensive to replace if the AC system is not maintained with fresh cabin filters and condenser cleanings.

How often does my Toyota need service in the heat?
The standard Toyota manual suggests 6 months or 5k but the reality for drivers on I-10 or 1604 to the 5k tire rotation and multipoint inspection.

How often should I change the oil on my Toyota?
Most modern Toyota vehicles use 0W-20 synthetic oil which is rated for 10,000 miles but in San Antonio's stop and go traffic and 100 degree temperatures we suggest 5k but 7,500 mile oil service should prevent oil shearing from the extreme heat.

Why is my Toyota AC blowing warm air only when I'm stopped?
If your AC is cold on the highway but warm at a red light it is usually one of 2 issues.
1. Condenser airflow - dirt or Texas bugs are blocking the condenser fins or the electronic cooling fan is failing.
2. Low refrigerant - A small leak which is common in older toyota models which will reduce the AC systems efficiency which shows itself first when the engine is idling.

Does my Toyota use a timing belt or timing chain?
Most modern Toyota vehicles engines use a timing chain. It is designed to last the life of the engine but you should get it checked as your vehicle nears 100k.

Can Mobile Service handle Toyota tech & calibrations?
